The ABB FIA Formula E Championship will utilise revolutionary sustainable branding and trackside signage at events from this weekend's Rome E-Prix, using non-PVC material in order to reduce plastic production and therefore waste.
Working with CSM Live, Formula E tasked the branding supplier to develop new trackside signage for the all-electric single seater series and through the use of polypropylene as opposed to PVC, the championship's environmental impact will be severely reduced.
Strong, durable and ultimately sustainable, the new signage will replace previously used materials, with this cutting back on 35-kilometres of potential PVC waste due to the recyclable nature of polypropylene.
“Working together with a trusted and credible supplier in CSM Live, we’ve been able to deliver sustainable solutions for branding and trackside signage," explained Julia Palle, Senior Sustainability Consultant at Formula E.
"Not only does the non-PVC material provide similar levels of strength and durability, each aspect has been carefully considered in order to fully limit its impact – from production line to re-use and recycling.
"Introducing new and innovative ways of branding allows the ABB FIA Formula E Championship to continue accelerating positive change in the events industry.”
This new revolutionary branding and signage will debut at this weekend's Rome E-Prix which marks the second half of Formula E's present 2018/19 campaign which has so far seen six different winners in the first six races.
“We’re proud to have worked closely with Formula E since its inception and whole-heartedly support the mission of the ABB FIA Formula E Championship to drive sustainable event management," added Graham Clark, Managing Director at CSM Live.
"In order to completely close the loop, we’ve looked at all elements of our supply chain and we’re thrilled to be able to deliver this new product – pioneering the way for non-PVC solutions to be used industry-wide across the globe.”
