Renault kick-started its build-up to this year’s French Grand Prix with a demonstration event at Disneyland Paris, bringing Formula 1 to Mickey Mouse and co.
Renault last year carried out a Formula 1 roadshow to mark the return of the French Grand Prix and its 2019 version got underway at Disneyland Paris.
Formula 2 driver and Renault Academy member Anthoine Hubert got his first taste of Formula 1 machinery by demonstrating the squad’s 2012-spec E20.
There will be a further 14 roadshow events through the remainder of April and early May, with race drivers Daniel Ricciardo and Nico Hulkenberg set to get behind the wheel.
“The launch of the roadshow of the Formula 1 Grand Prix de France in the heart of Disneyland Paris is a real popular success,” said French GP chief Gilles Dufeigneux.
“It marks the beginning of a major national tour, unique in the world, during which we will be happy to bring Formula 1 as close as possible to the fans.”
Added Renault boss Cyril Abiteboul: “Meeting fans and introducing as many people as possible to the magic of Formula 1 is a goal for Renault.
“The success of the event at Disneyland Paris demonstrates the French public's interest in Formula 1.
“As a French team, it is essential to participate in this national tour and we look forward to continuing this campaign across France.”
Renault’s next demonstration run will take place at Marck-en-Calaisis on Saturday April 20.
