Daniel Ticktum is set to get his first Formula 1 outing for Red Bull Racing during the young driver test after the Bahrain Grand Prix.
Ticktum will be driving the current Honda-powered Red Bull RB15 for the very first time. He has previously driven a Formula 1 car after winning the McLaren Autosport BRDC award, where he drove a 2013 McLaren MP4-28.
The British driver finished runner-up to Ferrari-backed Mick Schumacher in the European Formula 3 championship in 2018 but went on to win the prestigious Macau Grand Prix for the second successive year.
Ticktum will compete in Japanese Super Formula series with Team Mugen Honda as part of his Red Bull backing, similar to Pierre Gasly in 2017.
Max Verstappen will take the wheel of the RB15 during the first day of the test on Tuesday; Ticktum will assume driving duties on Wednesday.
Schumacher has already been confirmed as taking part in the test, sharing duties between both Ferrari and Alfa Romeo. Sebastian Vettel is expected to drive on the second day for Ferrari.
