The new Petronas Sepang Yamaha MotoGP team, which will field Franco Morbidelli and Fabio Quartararo this season, has unveiled its 2019 livery at its launch event in Malaysia.
SRT, which also fields teams in Moto2 and Moto3, replace the Nieto team on the 2019 grid and takes over the satellite M1s the now KTM-backed Tech3 team previously ran.
Former Moto2 champion Morbidelli joins the team after finishing top rookie in a strong debut season last year with Marc VDS, and will run the latest works Yamaha in 2019, while rookie teammate Quartararo will ride last year's M1.
The livery echoes that of the Sepang team's colour scheme in the lower classes last year, with the bikes dressed in a black and Petronas' famous mint green livery.
“I feel that we are taking part in a great thing,” Morbidelli said.
“Petronas and SIC are doing a great things. So I'm very pleased about this, and I hope we can make good results and make Petronas people happy.
“For sure I will try, we started well and we've been working very well from the beginning. So this is a very good start. I will try to give the maximum and be the best rider I can, and we will see.”
Quartararo added: “For sure, I'm the youngest but I don't need to think about the age, I need to think about enjoying on the bike and focus on making results. For sure it looks incredible.”
Also present at the launch was SRT's Moto2 runner Khairul Idham Pawi, who joins the squad after two years with Honda Team Asia, and its revised Moto3 line-up of Ayumu Sasaki and John McPhee.
SRT will take to its home circuit of Sepang next week for the first pre-season test of the year, which takes place from February 6-8.
