The M-Sport World Rally Team has confirmed it has entered into a partnership with aftermarket automotive supplier ZF for the 2019 FIA World Rally Championship.
ZF and M-Sport have been working together on new shock absorbers which will be used exclusively by the British squad's Ford Fiesta WRC's, starting with the first round of the 2019 campaign in Monte Carlo.
"Our development work with ZF has been going well and we’re looking forward to having them as part of the team this year," commented Chris Williams, Head of Rally Engineering at M-Sport.
"Our focus is on the continued development of the Ford Fiesta WRC and I’m hopeful that we will be able to make further gains alongside this new and valued partner."
Norbert Odendahl, CEO of ZF Race Engineering, added: "ZF has a long and very successful history in rally sports. Our new partnership with M-Sport as one of the leading teams in WRC history will certainly help us promoting our brand and expertise in off-road racing. We are looking forward to an exciting and successful season together."
M-Sport recently confirmed its 2019 plans following speculation the team could drop out of the championship due to funding. However a three-car effort has been confirmed for Rally Monte Carlo and Rally Sweden, though no decision has been made on the third car for the following rounds.
Elfyn Evans and Teemu Suninen form the team's main driver line-up, with Pontus Tidemand confirmed for Monte and Sweden.
