Lewis Hamilton has been reprimanded by stewards at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix for a pit lane entry offence during the opening practice session.
It is his second reprimand of the season for a driving offence – having received one in Germany – putting him one away from the limit of three.
Should he receive a third reprimand during Saturday’s final practice session or qualifying then he will be demoted 10 places on the grid.
Stewards “heard from the driver of car 44 [Hamilton] and the team representative.
“The stewards reviewed video evidence and telemetry, noting that on entering the pit lane after the end of FP1, car 44 locked up and crossed the white line at the entrance to the pits.
“The penalty of a reprimand is consistent with penalties imposed for other similar incidents.”
