Chip Ganassi Racing has confirmed that Felix Rosenqvist will line-up alongside five-time series champion Scott Dixon at the team in next year's IndyCar Series season.
Rosenqvist previously tested for CGR in 2016 and 2017 but did not make a move into the series, instead competing for the Mahindra Formula E team, finishing third and sixth place respectively in the past two seasons.
Rosenqvist raced in IndyCar's support series, Indy Lights, in 2016, taking three wins from his 10 appearances for Belardi Auto Racing.
The 26-year old boasts an impressive career in European competition as he dominated the 2015 FIA European Formula 3 championship, beating Antonio Giovinazzi to the title by 105.5 points and claimed two wins at the world-famous Macau Grand Prix in 2014 and 2015.
"To say I’m thrilled or excited to be making this step in my career would be an understatement,” said Rosenqvist, who will pilot the #10 car.
“Coming to IndyCar and driving for Ganassi is a dream come true. I’ve followed the team for as long as I can remember, and it’s the kind of environment any driver would want to be in.
"To get this chance alongside a proven, multiple championship winner such as Scott Dixon is just an incredible opportunity. I can’t wait to start contributing to the team and getting to spend more time with everyone at NTT DATA."
Rosenqvist's confirmation at Ganassi leaves Ed Jones without a seat for 2019.
