Formula 1 has confirmed plans for next month’s Miami fan festival, which will take place alongside the United States Grand Prix at Austin.
Liberty Media has been keen to expand Formula 1 in the United States and earlier this year unveiled plans for a Grand Prix to take place around Miami’s streets in 2019.
Those proposals have currently been put on hold for at least another year, but a fan festival will take place in the city on October 20-21.
Red Bull Racing and Renault will lead the motorsport contingent, with a range of past and present cars available, while Emerson Fittipaldi will demonstrate his title-winning McLaren M23.
Action from qualifying and the race at Austin will be live streamed on big screens in Bayfront Park, where the two-day festival will be based.
Silk City will headline a concert on Saturday evening alongside a host of other yet-to-be-named local talent, with free entry for spectators.
“America is increasingly becoming a hub of passion around Formula 1 and I am particularly excited about the opportunity to host an F1 Festival in Miami,” said commercial chief Sean Bratches.
“The success of the US Grand Prix in Austin demonstrates the appetite for Formula 1 in this country and we are determined to bring the sport to even more American fans in the coming seasons.
“Following the immense success of our events in London, Shanghai, Marseille and Milan, I am certain that Miami will follow suit.
“Miami is a diverse and vibrant city that shares many of the brand attributes of Formula 1, making it the perfect host for Formula 1’s final festival of 2018.”
