After claiming a maiden pole position in Formula 2, Prema Racing's Nyck de Vries stormed to a dominant victory at the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, beating Sergio Sette Camara to the chequered flag.
In qualifying, de Vries edged Mercedes junior George Russell to the top spot, beating the British driver to pole by 0.403s while Sette Camara lined up in third on the grid for Carlin.
Getting a perfect launch from his grid box when the starting lights went out, de Vries led into Turn 1 followed by Sette Camara after Russell had a slow start from second place, suffering from extensive of wheel spin to drop to third.
Opening a lead over the trailing Brazilian behind, de Vries lapped in first place until lap 10 when the Dutch driver pitted, exchanging his soft compound tyres for a fresh set of mediums before rejoining in eighth and in traffic, handing the lead to Russian Time's Artem Markelov.
Eighth place quickly became ninth for the McLaren junior after he was passed by Alessio Lorandi although he quickly recovered by clearing the Italian and maintaining the net lead of the race.
Running on the alternate strategy, Markelov ditched his rapidly ageing medium compound tyres for a set of softs on lap 14 to rejoin in ninth, handing the lead back to de Vries before the safety car was deployed after Nirei Fukuzumi stopped out on track with fire billowing out of the back of his Arden machine.
After the pack formed up behind the safety car, the green flags waved on lap 18 and racing was resumed.
Despite being closer to the back of de Vries following the safety car period, Sette Camara was unable to find a way past the Dutchman, taking the chequered flag in second place on lap 25 while de Vries claimed a third victory of 2018.
Russell stood on the final step of the podium for ART Grand Prix, holding off a late race challenge from McLaren protege Lando Norris who finished in fourth place.
Alexander Albon recovered from a poor start to the race to finish in fifth place for DAMS and was followed by Markelov who finished in sixth, unable to maximise his soft compound tyres following the late-race safety car.
Luca Ghiotto finished in seventh place, narrowly beaten to the line by Markelov while Nicholas Latifi finished in eighth ahead of Maximilian Gunther and Roy Nissany who secured ninth and tenth.
Eighth place for Latifi hands the Canadian driver pole position for Sunday's reverse grid Sprint Race, with the driver looking to emulate his performances of 2017 after enduring a difficult 2018 campaign to date.
