Ferrari has announced that its Head of Vehicle Project Co-Ordination, Simone Resta, will leave the team at the end of the month.
Long-term Ferrari man Resta was appointed to the position under boss Maurizio Arrivabene prior to the 2015 campaign, and worked as deputy to Mattia Binotto at the team.
In a short statement issued on Monday morning, Ferrari confirmed that Resta will depart the outfit on Thursday and take up another role at a different Formula 1 team, thought to be Sauber.
Ferrari currently holds second in the Constructors’ Championship, having opened the 2018 season with back-to-back wins, but has not triumphed in the four races since.
It reduced its deficit to Mercedes by five points in Monaco, meaning it now trails the reigning World Champions by 22 points.
