Williams driver Sergey Siroktin has been handed a three-place grid penalty for the upcoming Spanish Grand Prix after causing a collision on the opening lap of the Azerbaijan Grand Prix.
The Russian was blamed for driving into the back of Force India's Sergio Perez, which pushed the Mexican into his own team-mate.
Sirotkin was then involved in a second incident just moments later when he, Nico Hulkenberg and Fernando Alonso tangled. That forced him to retire from the race with heavy damage.
Sirotkin will therefore start the Spanish GP three places lower than he qualifies. The stewards also awarded him two penalty points.
"The stewards examined video evidence," read a statement. "The driver of car 35 drove into the back of car 11. The Stewards determined that the driver of car 9 was wholly to blame for the collision."
