Force India test and reserve driver Nicholas Latifi has been sidelined due to an illness, which has left him hospitalised.
Latifi was due to be behind the wheel of the new VJM11 on Thursday; Force India has yet to announce who may take over his running for the day.
He posted on Twitter in the early hours of Monday morning: "Disappointed I can't be at the Force India launch at Barcelona this morning.
"A serious infection put me in hospital last week and I'm now recovering at home. Aiming to be back on track in the next four weeks. Have to say, the VJM11 looks fantastic!"
The Canadian driver will also miss the first round of Formula 2 testing at the Paul Ricard circuit, where he was due to link up with DAMS.
Force India unveiled the VJM11 in the pit lane ahead of the first test going live, where development driver Nikita Mazepin will be on driving duty.
