Robert Kubica has logged 100 laps during his first test of the Williams FW40 at the Yas Marina circuit in Abu Dhabi, as part of the post-season Formula 1 tyre test.
The Polish driver is bidding to return to F1 full-time and after missing out on a chance with Renault, has set his sights on Williams as Felipe Massa's replacement.
However he faces competition for the seat alongside Lance Stroll from Sergey Sirotkin, who is also set to test this week, as well as Paul di Resta, Daniil Kvyat and Pascal Wehrlein – although the latter is considered unlikely.
Kubica finished up eighth quickest with a best time of 1:41.296 on the soft tyre before handing the car over to Stroll for the final few hours.
It's expected Kubica will be back in the car on Wednesday to test Pirelli's 2018 compounds, with Sirotkin taking over in the afternoon.
