After a difficult start to the second half of the 2017 season, fortune finally favoured Ferrari, with Sebastian Vettel securing a record-equaling third win at the Brazilian Grand Prix.
Vettel started from second on the grid and overtook Mercedes' Valtteri Bottas into the first corner on the opening tour of the circuit. Following a safety car period for a number of accidents on the opening lap, Vettel maintained his lead and went on to take the checkered flag by 2.7s from Bottas.
Kimi Raikkonen stood on the final step of the podium in the second Ferrari, successfully holding off a hard-charging Lewis Hamilton who finished in fourth place after starting the race from the pit lane following his crash from qualifying, only 5.4s adrift of the leaders.
It was a Red Bull 5-6, with Max Verstappen leading Daniel Ricciardo across the line, with the latter being involved in a first lap incident with McLaren's Stoffel Vandoorne and Haas F1's Kevin Magnussen.
Felipe Massa finished in seventh place in what will be his final home race in Formula 1, with his illustrious career of 15 seasons coming to a close at the end of 2017. Massa headed up a closely fought battle with his former Ferrari team-mate, Fernando Alonso and Sergio Perez who finished in eighth and ninth respectively.
Nico Hulkenberg rounded out the points paying positions for Renault, one lap behind Vettel.
Four drivers failed to finish in Sau Paulo, with Brendon Hartley suffering from a technical failure while Esteban Ocon, Vandoorne and Magnussen were removed from contention through a series of incidents during the opening lap.
