Max Verstappen will emerge from his current struggles in a stronger position according to Red Bull team boss Christian Horner.
The Dutch driver has endured terrible luck this season so far, having retired from five of the last seven races thanks to various issues, including two engine failures and a problem with his clutch, as well as his recent Turn 1 retirement in Austria which he couldn't have avoided.
Meanwhile team-mate Daniel Ricciardo has finished on the podium in the last five races, including Red Bull's first victory of the season in Azerbaijan – which has made things even worse for Verstappen according to Horner.
"It's massively tough for him but he will come through this stronger," said the Briton. "There are times [like this] in a Grand Prix driver's career – you forget how young he is.
"He's taking it on the chin and of course that's especially hard when you're seeing the other car getting the podiums he feels he should be achieving."
Horner is confident things will turn around though, adding: "Iit will come right for him. He's performing at such a high level that I think when it does come right, he could quite easily win three races in a row."
