Valtteri Bottas claimed his second career victory with a lights to flag win at the Red Bull Ring for the Austrian Grand Prix, overcoming a late charge from Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel behind.
The Mercedes driver got the perfect start, so perfect he was accused of jumping the lights by both Vettel and Daniel Ricciardo, with the stewards even opting to take a look before deciding he hadn't, with data showing a 0.201s reaction time.
With that investigation out of the way, Bottas continued to pull clear at the front and opened up a comfortable gap to Vettel in second.
Bottas' team-mate Lewis Hamilton got a good start to jump up to sixth from eighth, before moving up to fifth with a pass on Haas' Romain Grosjean.
Max Verstappen's race came to an abrupt end at Turn 1 after he got a poor start and dropped back, finding himself alongside Fernando Alonso and Daniil Kvyat. Those two tangled, with Verstappen getting caught up in the action too.
Both Alonso and the Dutchman retired with damage on the opening lap, whilst Kvyat was handed a drive-through penalty.
The race was relatively calm until the final few laps when tyre degradation played a role, with blisters hitting all the drivers. That allowed Vettel to close up on Bottas, with the pair just half a second off at the finish.
Hamilton meanwhile was alongside Ricciardo at Turn 3 on the final lap, but the Red Bull driver just kept his nose ahead to cross the finish line to secure the final podium spot.
Kimi Räikkönen finished fifth ahead of Grosjean, with Sergio Pérez and Esteban Ocon seventh and eighth.
The Williams pair completed the top ten with Felipe Massa finishing 18 seconds ahead of team-mate Lance Stroll, who came close to losing out to Renault's Jolyon Palmer on the final lap, with half a second between them.
