Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel has been awarded ‘Driver of the Day’ for the 2017 Canadian Grand Prix after his fight back up the field.
The four-time champion started in second place but dropped to fourth at the start, damaging his front wing after being clipped by Max Verstappen’s Red Bull.
An earlier stop to replace his front wing dropped him to 18th place, but Vettel rallied back up the order on a two-stop strategy.
He gained a place late on when his team-mate Kimi Raikkonen cut the final chicane, and was then involved in a close scrap with the Force Indias.
Vettel eventually passed both Sergio Perez and Esteban Ocon to claim fourth place, finishing right behind the final podium spot.
The Driver of the Day award is voted for by the fans from the half-way point of the race, with Vettel picking up the most votes after his performance at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve.
