Formula 1 teams have loaded up on the purple-banded Ultrasoft tyres for next weekend's Canadian Grand Prix at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve.
Sole tyre supplier Pirelli has again nominated the Ultrasoft (purple), Supersoft (red) and Soft (yellow) compounds for the seventh round of the campaign at the semi-permanent street circuit.
Each driver is permitted 13 sets of tyres across the course of the weekend; one set of Ultrasofts must be cast aside for use only in Q3, while either a set of the Supersofts or Softs must be saved for one stint of the Grand Prix.
Mercedes has opted for eight sets of Ultrasofts, along with Force India and Toro Rosso, while Red Bull, Williams, Haas, Renault and Sauber have plumped for seven sets of the compound.
Ferrari, with nine sets, and McLaren, at 10, have both taken more aggressive approaches with the Ultrasofts.
