McLaren-Honda driver Jenson Button will start the Monaco Grand Prix from the pit lane after the team opted to change the set-up on his car.
Button is competing in Monaco as a one-off, in place of regular driver Fernando Alonso, who is participating in the Indianapolis 500 later today (Sunday).
Button qualified in ninth place but entered Saturday's session lumbered with a 15-place grid penalty, after having to take on new engine elements, exceeding the allocation of the entry, previously used by Alonso.
The penalty meant that Button was set to start from the back of the 20-car grid, but McLaren has opted to carry out changes to the set-up of his MCL32, and the Briton must now start from the pit lane.
Button's McLaren team-mate Stoffel Vandoorne will line up from 12th place on the grid.
