Several sections of the Circuit de Monaco have been resurfaced, ahead of this weekend’s event around the streets of the Principality.
In the pre-event notes, issued to teams by Formula 1 Race Director Charlie Whiting, the stages of new tarmac were outlined.
The entire pits straight has been resurfaced, as well as the segment between Casino Square and the entry to the right-hander at Portier.
Drivers will also encounter new tarmac for a brief moment upon exiting the tunnel, with another new stretch between Tabac and Piscine, following non-event construction work in the area since 2016.
Elsewhere, the speed bumps across the run-off exiting the second Piscine segment have been removed and replaced by one speed bump parallel to the track after the kerb exiting the turn, in order to act as a deterrent to drivers attempting to cut the corner.
Formula 1 is joined in Monaco by Formula 2, along with the Porsche Supercup and Formula Renault Eurocup.
