Chip Ganassi's Max Chilton was fastest during practice eight on Monday for the 101st running of the Indianapolis 500, with a best lap speed of 228.592mph during the three-and-a-half-hour session.
Chilton, 15th on the grid, completed 108 laps and was 0.4mph quicker than Dale Coyne Racing's Ed Jones.
Polesitter Scott Dixon (Chip Ganassi) was a further 1mph slower to complete an all-Honda top three ahead of the Chevrolet-powered Team Penske Simon Pagenaud.
Monday's running marks the final full practice session before Sunday's race, with only Friday's hour-long session on 'Carb Day' the final chance for drivers to get some practice in before the big event.
McLaren's Fernando Alonso was the slowest Andretti car in P12, 2.5mph off the lead pace, though times aren't all-important as drivers focussed on running in traffic, rather than outright pace.
Alonso's Andretti team-mate Takuma Sato was fifth, with Ryan Hunter-Reay seventh, Alexander Rossi ninth and Marco Andretti 10th.
The Michael Shank Racing run Andretti car of Jack Harvey was 21st, but set the highest non-tow aided top speed of 224.036mph and completed the most laps at 124.
Sebastien Bourdais stand-in James Davidson was 28th quickest in his first practice session since being confirmed as the Frenchman's replacement.
