Haas has chosen to revert to Brembo brakes for the Russian Grand Prix after testing Cabron Industrie discs during practice.
The Haas team has struggled to get on top of its brakes, with Romain Grosjean in particular often complaining of problems, prompting the team to try out a different supplier.
Haas trialled Carbon Industrie's brakes during the two-day post-Bahrain GP test and were pleased with the initial results. However in Russia on Friday, Grosjean struggled once again.
"We had some issues with the brakes over the long runs. We need to look at what we can do better with them," said the Frenchman.
Whilst team principal Guenther Steiner admitted they lacked experience with the new material: "I would say the issues with the brakes were mainly because they’re new to us," he said. "We need to find out how they work [before running them again]."
Steiner on Saturday morning confirmed the team had switched back to Brembo for the remainder of the weekend, but didn't rule out switching to Carbon Industrie in future, admitting their problems are likely cooling related and more work needed to be done in that area.
