Kimi Räikkönen recorded the quickest time during the final day of the opening Formula 1 pre-season test at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, which featured wet running.
The circuit was artificially watered on Wednesday night and Thursday morning, in order to allow tyre supplier Pirelli to rack up data for its Intermediate and Wet tyres.
Running was limited in wet conditions during the morning session, before the circuit dried up before lunch, during which the entire track was watered once more.
Only a handful of drivers appeared before the circuit dried just over an hour into the afternoon session, with times tumbling as slick tyres returned to usage.
Räikkönen's effort of 1:20.872 was enough to give the Finn top spot at the chequered flag, finishing nine-tenths of a second clear of Red Bull's Max Verstappen in second place.
Jolyon Palmer finished nine-thousandths of a second behind Verstappen in third place for Renault, with team-mate Nico Hülkenberg also making an appearance in the morning. Palmer was followed Romain Grosjean, who enjoyed a better day in the Haas VF-17 en route to P4.
Ferrari reserve driver Antonio Giovinazzi conducted running with Sauber once more, finishing fifth overall after a late lap on Ultra Softs vaulted him up the timesheets, with Sergio Pérez following in P6 on his second day in the Force India.
McLaren enjoyed a positive day as Stoffel Vandoorne racked up over 60 laps in the MCL32, finishing up seventh as the team went some way to making up for its struggles earlier in the week.
Mercedes had a low-key day, with Valtteri Bottas finishing in eighth place, having taken over from team-mate Lewis Hamilton shortly before lunch. Hamilton did not run at all, with his Mercedes W08 stranded by an electrical fault, the team’s first major interruption of the season.
Toro Rosso endured another troublesome day, as Daniil Kvyat completed just an installation lap before an engine change was required in the STR12, ending its running, a further blow for the team after a difficult start to the season.
Williams withdrew from proceedings prior to the start of the day, due to Lance Stroll’s crash exiting Turn 5 on Wednesday.
Testing resumes on Tuesday March 7 at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.
