The French Grand Prix will return to the Formula 1 calendar in 2018, following confirmation during a press conference in Paris on Monday.
Recent reports suggested F1 would return to France for the 2018 season, with a five-year deal having now been confirmed.
F1 raced at the Magny-Cours circuit from 1991 to 2008, but it will be the Paul Ricard track that will host the returning French GP.
The circuit had previously held the event 14 times between 1971 and 1990, rotating with Charade and Dijon.
The newly-announced deal for the French GP will bring it back to F1 after a 10-year absence from the schedule.
The returning race has support from the Provence-Alpes-Côtes d'Azur, the Var department, the city of Toulon and the FFSA.
F1’s 2017 calendar falls from 21 to 20 races, with the German Grand Prix being dropped.
