Nico Rosberg can win his first Formula 1 World Championship this weekend as long as he outscores Mercedes team-mate Lewis Hamilton by seven points or more.

The German heads into the weekend with a 19-point advantage over Hamilton with nine race wins to eight – which could prove crucial if the title goes to the final race.

However Rosberg has a chance to wrap things up this weekend, and here are the scenarios in which he can lift the crown for the first time:

– [1st] If Rosberg wins the race, he will become champion no matter where Hamilton finishes

– [2nd] If Rosberg finishes second, Hamilton must finish fourth [4th] or lower

– [3rd] If Rosberg finishes third, Hamilton must finish sixth [6th] or lower

– [4th] If Rosberg finishes fourth, Hamilton must finish seventh [8th] or lower

– [5th] If Rosberg finishes fifth, Hamilton must finish ninth [9th] or lower

– [6th] If Rosberg finishes sixth, Hamilton must finish tenth [10th] or lower

If Rosberg finishes seventh and Hamilton doesn't score, the championship would go down to the final race in Abu Dhabi, and that's the same if Hamilton wins and Rosberg fails to score, but the Briton would then take the lead of the championship.
