Renault driver Jolyon Palmer will miss qualifying for the Mexican Grand Prix after he cracked his chassis in third practice.
The British driver ran over the kerbs at the final corner late in the FP3 session, which was enough to pick up the damage.
He confirmed the news on Twitter just prior to the start of Q1, confirming it was a crack in the chassis that has caused him to miss qualifying.
He had finished third practice in 14th place and was hopeful of making it through to Q2 in qualifying at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez.
Palmer will now start from the back of the grid for the Mexican GP, as he chases his second top 10 result of the 2016 season.
I won't be taking part in Quali after we found a crack in the chassis. Big shame as we were 14th in FP3 and aiming for Q2 again. #MexicanGP
