Max Verstappen has picked up the Driver of the Day award for the Japanese Grand Prix after scoring his sixth podium of the 2016 Formula 1 season.
The Dutch racer started from third on the grid but moved up to second place at the start, retaining the position by the chequered flag.
This was despite Verstappen coming under intense pressure from Lewis Hamilton’s Mercedes towards the end of the race.
It’s the second consecutive time Verstappen has won Driver of the Day, which is voted for by F1 fans throughout the race.
He won the award in Malaysia, backing up previous Driver of the Day victories in Spain, Canada, Austria and Britain.
Nico Rosberg won the Japanese GP at Suzuka, with Hamilton in third to clinch Mercedes the constructors’ title.
