Felipe Nasr believes that Sauber is "a very attractive place to be" for the 2017 Formula 1 season as the Brazilian considers his options for next year.
Nasr made his F1 debut with Sauber in 2015, finishing fifth on debut in Australia, but is yet to score a point in 2016 following financial difficulties that held the Swiss team back.
Following a takeover by Longbow Finance over the summer, Sauber has now been able to go on a recruitment drive and develop upgrades for its C35 car.
Nasr has been linked with a move to Williams for 2017, but said on Thursday ahead of the Singapore Grand Prix that Sauber remained an attractive option for the future now it is secure.
"Right now I don’t have any news. Hopefully soon but right now I don’t have much to say really," Nasr said.
"All I can say, at Sauber things are moving forward. I can see the team really stepping up a lot of new people coming in, so as I said, it’s still a very attractive place to be, but it’s still an unknown.
"Hopefully when I have some news I’ll bring it in."
Nasr's teammate, Marcus Ericsson, spoke about the changes currently taking place at Sauber, with the full update package for its car set to debut in Singapore.
"We've got some new signings, new personnel in the team with fresh ideas. It’s positive for everyone I think," Ericsson said.
"Also on the car side we got some updates going in the last couple of races and it’s interesting, we’re trying them out, trying to optimise them, and coming here to Singapore will also be very interesting for us because it will be the first time we really run the full new package we have introduced after the summer break.
"So it will be a very interesting weekend for us to see how far it gets us really."
