Nico Rosberg has been summoned to the stewards office for a rules breach during qualifying for the British Grand Prix on Saturday.
The Mercedes driver, who qualified second behind team-mate Lewis Hamilton, exceeded the maximum time between the two Safety Car lines allowed under Article 27.5 of the Sporting Regulations during Q1.
"Alleged breach of Article 27.5 of the FIA Formula One Sporting Regulations, exceeding the maximum time set by the FIA between the Safety Car line after the pit exit and Safety Car line before the pit entry at 13.05," confirmed a statement.
Rosberg will have to attend the stewards office along with a Mercedes representative to explain his actions and could face a grid penalty or reprimand.
