Pirelli has clarified the tyre sets Max Verstappen and Daniil Kvyat will have at their disposal for the next F1 2016 round in Spain, after the former was promoted to a drive at Red Bull Racing.
Kvyat has been demoted to Toro Rosso, returning to the team he made his F1 debut for in 2014, as Verstappen takes his place at Red Bull for the remainder of the season.
Originally Kvyat went for two sets of hard tyres, four sets of mediums and seven sets of softs for the race at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.
Meanwhile at Toro Rosso, Verstappen was confirmed to have one set of hard tyres, six sets of mediums and six sets of softs to use in Spain.
But Pirelli has confirmed to Grand Prix Times that after the driver swap, Kvyat will be using the tyre sets assigned to Verstappen’s Toro Rosso car.
Verstappen will have the tyre allocation of Kvyat’s Red Bull, meaning he will have one extra set of the hard tyre, two fewer sets of mediums and one more set of softs.
