The final day of pre-season testing ahead of the 2016 MotoGP season saw riders pushing to find the limits of their bikes, which ultimately led to several crashes throughout the session.
Jorge Lorenzo was quickest for Yamaha with a best of 1m54.810s, putting him half a second clear of Octo Pramac rival Scott Redding.
The session began in silence as nobody chose to venture out in the opening hour before Aprilia’s Stefan Bradl broke that silence, eventually ending up slowest but one in 21st with a time 2.5 seconds down on Lorenzo.
Fifth-placed Valentino Rossi suffered his second fall of the test at Turn 10 but was unhurt. He managed to recover and was back on his bike again in the closing hours of the test.
Shortly after, Marc VDS rider Tito Rabat took a tumble at Turn 6, again he was unhurt and jumped back on his back a little later, only to suffer a second fall.
As the clocked ticked down into the final two hours, Aleix Espargaro and Loris Bas fell, with the former suffering a high-speed crash at Turn 3. They were shortly joined on the faller list by Hector Barbera, who fell twice, and Cal Crutchlow who was taken to the medical centre to checks.
Lorenzo was the man to beat though as the gap widened at the front, although behind things remained close. Second to 14th were split by just under a second.
With testing now over, the series takes a short break ahead of the opening round of the championship at the same circuit on March 17th.
