Lewis Hamilton was quickest for Mercedes on the second morning of the second pre-season test after bolting on a set of Soft tyres to post a 1m23.622s.
The Briton completed 73 laps before lunch, after which he will hand his car over to team-mate Nico Rosberg for the afternoon session.
Renault's Kevin Magnussen was three-tenths down on the Super-Soft tyre after the team switched its focus to qualifying performance.
Haas suffered a poor morning, continuing on from Tuesday's disappointment, with Esteban Gutierrez completing a single lap before a turbo failure sidelined him and is likely to do so for the early-afternoon.
