Renault were not to blame for Carlos Sainz Jr's British Grand Prix retirement, the Toro Rosso team have confirmed following analysis back at their Faenza factory.
The Spaniard looked set to score a handful of points, but his car ground to a halt at the penultimate corner of the Silverstone circuit, bringing out the Virtual Safety Car.
It was initially thought that Renault's power unit might have been to blame, but the team have confirmed that an electrical fault caused his car to stop.
Though Toro Rosso failed to elaborate on the exact fault, following further analysis they confirmed it was a part of the car under their control.
