Lewis Hamilton has been named the wealthiest British sportsman following a successful season in 2014 which saw him crowned a two-time world champion.
The Mercedes driver has amassed a fortune of £88 million ($133m), an increase of £20m ($30m) on the previous year, to top the list.
His lead at the top is likely to increase when he signs a new deal with Mercedes for next season, which is likely to be worth upwards of £30m ($45m) per season, excluding personal sponsorship deals.
In third place is McLaren’s Jenson Button. The 2009 champion has £71m ($108m) to his name, just £1m behind footballer Wayne Rooney who holds onto second place.
Fourth place goes to Tennis’ Andy Murray with a distant £48m ($73m), whilst fifth is held by footballer Rio Ferdinand on £44m ($67m).
