Esteban Gutierrez is hoping to settle in quickly at Ferrari and use his experience of the Ferrari power unit to help develop it during the 2015 season.
The Mexican was dropped by the Ferrari-powered Sauber team at the end of the 2014 season, but has found a new home at Ferrari as their third driver.
At present he’s busy getting to know the team – a process he hopes will happen quickly to allow him to help develop the 2015 car and engine.
“Now, the important thing for me is to adapt and to settle in to this new environment as quickly as possible,” said the 23-year-old on his first visit to Maranello as a member of the Ferrari team.
“I need to get to know the people I will be working with and I hope that my experience with the Ferrari engine will mean I can contribute to the development of the new power unit.”
He will work alongside former-Toro Rosso driver Jean-Eric Vergne on the simulator to develop Ferrari’s 2015 challenger.
