Pastor Maldonado will receive a brand new chassis for the remainder of the Singapore Grand Prix weekend as a result of his second practice crash.
The Venezuelan brought out the red flag after 45 minutes when he slammed into the barrier on the exit of turn 10, blaming a lack of grip on the soft tyre.
“I was just losing grip from the tyres,” he said. “I just lost the car, the car was too snappy and I lost the car in the middle of the corner. It was a mistake, the car was too loose and I lost it into the corner.”
The damage sustained to his chassis is beyond repair and the team will therefore build up a new one for Saturday’s final practice.
