Lotus have been left in the cold after confirmation that all remaining ten teams will attend the opening pre-season test session next week in Jerez, Spain.
The Enstone outfit recently confirmed it wouldn’t be present, citing additional factory development time being more important than on-track testing.
It seems nobody else agrees after Marussia became the final team to confirm it will debut its 2014 car, the MR03, in Spain in just a few days time.
“For those of you asking if we’ll be in Jerez next week … we will indeed,” the team posted on Twitter.
“Can’t wait to see the new MR03 out on track!”
Lotus team principal Eric Boullier recently said he was certain they wouldn’t be the only team skipping Jerez.
“You will see, we will not be the only team not being in Jerez,” he said. “I know this for a fact already.”
It seems his facts aren’t quite that and Lotus could pay the penalty for skipping the test which has been described as “vital” by several rivals.
