Red Bull will reportedly unveil Daniel Ricciardo as its new driver for the 2014 season, replacing Mark Webber who will move to the Porsche WEC team next year.
The Toro Rosso driver, according to German media, will be confirmed as Sebastian Vettel’s team-mate at the next Formula 1 race in Belgium, where an official announcement will be made.
“We won’t say anything before Spa, that’s all I can say,” the championship winning team’s advisor, Helmut Marko, told Sport Bild.
Ricciardo had been joint-favourite alongside Kimi Raikkonen to secure the coveted seat and was seen as a better long-term candidate compared to the Finnish driver.
Raikkonen is believed to have agreed to remain with Lotus who admitted they were keen to do everything within their powers to keep the 2007 champion for ’14.
