Adrian Sutil has warned his rivals that Force India will be back on form at the Belgian Grand Prix following a recent slump in performance.
The German and team-mate Paul di Resta have accumulated 59 points so far this season, but have failed to score in the two races.
The team blame the change in tyres, whilst Di Resta believes they’ve dropped the ball in terms of developments. Sutil though believes the midfield has simply become more competitive.
“All of us, the drivers and the team, should push very hard to be successful,” he told the official F1 website. “We had a very strong start to the season, but for the last few races it’s much closer in the midfield so the tension is up.”
He does however believe they will excel at some of the upcoming circuits, particularly the next race in Belgium where they have traditionally done well.
“There should be some circuits in the second half where we can be strong again,” he added. “We have to see how much the others will improve over the next weeks, but yes, my hope is that the next circuits will make things easier again for us.
“I’m convinced we will be strong in Spa. I like the circuit very much. It’s a really challenging one – a racers track! So watch out for us!”
