Paul di Resta believes the Force India team have slipped backwards after performing strongly in the opening races, but is confident they will become stronger in the coming races.
The Scot has amassed 36 points in the opening eight races of the season, whilst team-mate Adrian Sutil has scored 23 – but both drivers have failed to score in the last two grands prix.
The team have put the performance loss down to the new tyres and Di Resta is hoping they can find a fix during the summer break after admitting they’d “let things slip”.
“I trust the team will have a lot of ideas as we go into the summer break,” said the 27-year-old.
“I think they have done a great job up until now, but we’ve let things slip slightly as a team in the last couple of grands prix.
“They’re good guys and I believe they can work their way and come up with a solution.”
