Robert Kubica has undergone further surgery, focused on his elbow in order to allow him more mobility, following his February 2011 rally accident.
The Polish driver has also had two prostheses inserted into his elbow which his doctor believes will enable him to better grip a steering wheel.
Dr Ruggero Testoni performed the operation following simulator tests to identify which areas Kubica required operating on to improve his dexterity.
“This way the driver can handle the full wheel, whereas previously he was unable to rotate the palm down and was forced to pull the hand off the wheel to in left-hand corners,” Dr Testoni told Tuttosport.
