Force India are even more hopeful of securing sixth place in the Constructors’ Championship and believe Monza will enable them to take the next step toward surpassing Sauber.
The Silverstone based outfit are just three points behind the Swiss team and have outscored them by 18 points in the previous three races.
That, according to team owner Vijay Mallya, is proof that Force India are heading toward their best ever finish. In their maiden year, 2008, they finished tenth, then ninth in 2009 before jumping to seventh last season.
“Looking back on the last three races I am very pleased with the performances we have shown,” said Mallya. “Three strong points finishes on the trot have earned us 20 points and taken us a step closer to sixth place in the Constructors’ Championship.
“It’s a clear sign that we are delivering as a team on all levels and our season is now gathering some real momentum.
“The target now is to get both drivers in the points and I’m hopeful Monza will give us a chance to do that.”
