Adrian Sutil could be stripped of his superlicense by the FIA, therefore unable to compete in Formula 1 as a result of possible legal action following a scuffle in a Chinese nightclub.
The German reportedly broke a champagne glass and cut the neck of Eric Lux, CEO of Genii Capital, the investment firm which owns the Renault outfit.
This ‘fight’ followed Chinese GP celebrations between the German and race winner Lewis Hamilton who are good friends. The attack took place in the Shanghai club, M1NT. Hamilton wasn’t involved.
According to a report on French website Sport24, written by a well-known F1 journalist, Lux is looking to take legal action as well as submitting a report to the FIA.
This was also backed up by a letter which was reportedly written by Lux, confirming his intention to take legal action.
Whilst the regulatory body isn’t currently looking into the matter, such a report from Lux could result in a thorough investigation which could ultimately see Sutil face a ban and possibly jail time if the police are involved, though that would only happen if Lux chose to press charges.
Nico Hulkenberg is the teams current reserve driver.
