Lewis Hamilton has announced that he is close to appointing his new manager after spending the entire 2010 season without one.
The 2008 World Champion is said to be favouring an international management group over an individual as he is keen to “grow his brand.”
The Brit, who earns somewhere in the region of £25 million a year, said, “Hopefully in the next couple of weeks I’ll be able to let you know what’s going on.”
“But it’s positive. It won’t distract me from my job, and certainly things will be taken care of a lot better than when I was looking after myself.”
Management companies thought to be in the running include, 19 Entertainment, IMG and Creative Artists Agency.
Hamilton split from the management of his father Anthony Hamilton before the start of the 2010 season citing that he wanted reserve time spent with his father for “father-son time.”
