Tony Fernandes has revealed that Fairuz Fauzy will test the Lotus F1 car in practice, a similar set-up to Force India who will give Paul di Resta time in their car.
“He will be taking the car in the free practice,” said Fernandes.
Giving Fauzy testing time at races allows the team to set-up the cars and rest their drivers for qualifying and the race, whilst the test driver can gain confidence in the car for any future role within the team as a driver.
It is thought Malysian born Fauzy could be promoted to a seat by the Malaysian backed Lotus team in 2011, as they look to become the national team of the Asian country.
